Catherine Smith Gallery, Farthling Auditiorium

   The Catherine Smith Gallery is a program of Appalachian State University and is located within Farthling Auditorium at the University. The gallery is a non-profit making institution, in the service of society and its development and open to the public. The gallery is committed to researching, exhibiting and interpreting, for the purpose of study, education, and enjoyment of objects, activities and documents which are part of the focus of visual arts. The mission of the gallery is to become a center for the presentation of the visual arts in Northwestern North Carolina by establishing a regionally significant exhibition and research program in support of the educational mission of Appalachian State University.

Directions: From Asheville take I-40 east. At exit 72 merge onto US-70 E toward Old Fort. Turn left onto US-221 N. Continue on US-221 N to Linville. Turn left onto NC-105 N. Follow NC-105 N to Boone. To go Directly to Farthing Auditorium: Turn left onto US-321 N. Turn left onto Rivers Street. Holmes Convocation Center and Appalachian welcome sign will be on the left. Farthing Auditorium is on the left at the 3rd stoplight. Parking for evening events is on the right at the 3rd stoplight in the Raley Parking Lot.
